    Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi, professionally known as Seyi Vibez, has continued to dominate the airwaves as one of the most formidable talents in the Nigerian music scene. Born on July 12, 2000, in Ketu, Lagos State, his journey from his early beginnings to his current status as a leading figure in Afrobeats is both inspiring and impressive.


    Seyi Vibez Early Life and Career

    Seyi Vibez spent his formative years in Ketu before moving to Ikorodu, Lagos State. His musical journey began in earnest in 2019 with the release of his debut single “Anybody.” However, it was the 2020 release of “Godsent” that truly marked his arrival on the Nigerian music scene. The following year, he released his debut studio album, No Seyi No Vibez (NSNV), which laid a strong foundation for his burgeoning career.

    In recognition of his star power, he was named the brand ambassador for Cardtonic in August 2023. The same year, he won the Best Street-Hop Artiste award at the 16th Headies for “Chance (Na Ham).”

    Meanwhile, In early 2023, he released his debut extended play (EP), Memory Card. The five-track EP featured American rapper YXNG K.A and amassed over 6.30 million streams in its first week. Four tracks from the EP dominated the Turntable top 10 chart, and Pan African Music listed it as one of the 10 best albums of January 2023. He also went on to put out other projects which includes, Vibe Till Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Kingdom Come & NAHAMCiaga,

    His collaboration with Zlatan on “Let There Be Light,” released in February 2023, further solidified his reputation, debuting at No. 14 on Apple Music’s top 100 Nigeria chart. Later in August, he released the single “Jajoo” and featured in a track by Kizz Daniel & BNXN

    March 2023 brought personal tragedy with the passing of his mother. Describing it as the “darkest day” of his life, he expressed his profound grief and love for his mother on social media. This loss has undoubtedly shaped his personal and artistic journey.

    In January 2024, Seyi Vibez shared the invaluable advice he received from Burna Boy: “Don’t complain, just believe, show no sign of weakness, and keep moving.” This guidance seems to have influenced his resilient approach to his career.

    Seyi Vibez’s trajectory continues to rise, as evidenced by his nomination for BET Awards Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act 2024. April 2024 saw the release of “Instagram,” which quickly topped the Apple Music Nigeria charts within 24 hours of its release, featuring the young talent Muyeez, who is signed to Seyi Vibez newly found record label, Vibez Inc.
